Hiatus

Dear January,

Please don't take offence when i ask you to take your sweet precious time getting here. While there are many things about you i'm looking forward i am weary about the leaving husband. So be sure to enjoy the holiday seasons just a little longer this year :)

Dear Me,

WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?? Okay, maybe it's not quite 'type in caps lock' kind of bad, but seriously, 5 weeks away from home 3 weeks without A, and both #1 & #2 by myself?

Okay, maybe it is caps lock kind of bad.

Next time you get this great idea to go galavanting on your own with two rugrats.......DO IT!! (And that deserves cap locks!). Seriously how boring would it have been to stay in the comfort of you own home for the summer? Visiting the same library/park/coffee shop/beaches, etc...when you could pack up and move every 4-6 days, deal with a 2 year old who doesn't want to go to sleep, a 4 month old who is cluster feeding-seriously, every hour-stares/looks from other parents who deem you unfit or worse, stupid for undertaking a trip like this, and then there is the never-ending neediness of a 2 year old who becuase he is away from home refuses any sort of help from anyone other than mom (you'd be amazed at the things i've managed to do while breast-feeding). But i've seen friends i haven't seen for over 1/2 a year, some for years, i've visited many a coffee shop (and a delicious bakery too), i've purused a few nice local yarn shops, my kids have played at plenty of parks (new every time!), been to a few beaches-who knew not all beaches were sandy-#1 has tried kayaking, gone for runs, been quading, tried outdoor rock climbing, and has had endless playmates.

So while there is a bit of sarcasm to my voice about going in the first place, I say the hell with it, fill up the gas tank and hit the road--slowly so as not to wake the sleeping babes, we all now the longer you can go with sleeping the better;)

Dear Baby Equipment,

I am happy to announce your days are numbered in this house! As we make use of each of you one more time I am looking forward to the reality of getting rid of you. I could sugar coat this to say i'd be passing you on to a better home or somewhere where you might be used, but I honestly don't care what happens to you once #2 is done with you. So to the exersaucer (that takes up way too much living room space), the play-mat, the enfant rocking chair, I say Au-due.

Sincerly,
Down-Sizing Mother

Dear Hubby,
Thank you kindly for going away this weekend and taking #1 with you! I have thoroughly enjoyed my weekend with only one child--who slept 10 hours straight--and my visiting sister:) Looking forward to seeing you two soon.

Dear Allergies,
You suck...big time! I feel the need to tell you that you have overstayed your welcome. At first i thought i could handle you for what seemed like a short but necessary visit, as time wore on i started dropping hints (remember those little white pills?) and you still stuck around. Well my unwelcome house guest I am now here to tell you straight up--Get the Hell Out, NOW!....Please?

Dear Ladies,
Thank you for a night out sans kids! Nothing quite like leaving #1 & #2 with Dad and getting out of the house for a few brewskies and a night of conversation that isn't with a 2 year old-No offense #1. Special shout-out to Nad for the buying me the beer, best neighbour ever ;)
Love,
A more relaxed mother!
